Ministry of Finance plans loans of over 8.2 billion RON from banks in March

The Ministry of Finance (MF) planned, in March 2025, loans from commercial banks in the amount of 7.4 billion RON, to which the amount of 840 million RON can be added through additional sessions of non-competitive offers, related to bond auctions.

The total amount, of 8.24 billion RON, is 200 million RON higher than the one that was scheduled in February of this year, of 8.04 billion RON, and will be intended for refinancing the public debt and financing the state budget deficit.

According to the article published in the Official Gazette, on March 3 and 10, auctions will be organized for two issues of treasury certificates with a discount, in the amount of 800 million RON, respectively one billion RON, due on September 29, 2025, and on February 23, 2026, respectively.

Also, during March, auctions will be organized for 10 benchmark bond issues, with a total value of 5.6 billion RON, followed the next day by an additional session of non-competitive offers, with a value of 15% of the initial value of the bond issue (840 million RON in total), Agerpres informs.

Thus, auctions were scheduled for a bond issue of 300 million RON, on March 20, one of 400 million RON, on 13 March, three of 500 million RON, on 3 March, 27 March and 31 March, two of 600 million RON, on 6 March and 24 March, two of 700 million RON, on 6 March and 17 March and one on 800 million RON, on March 10.
